When children are young, going to After-School Care (Gakudō) can be fun.
But when they reach upper elementary grades (4th, 5th, 6th grade), more children start thinking, “I don’t want to go anymore.”

My child felt the same way.
Some want to spend time differently from their friends, go home alone, or use their time for club activities or lessons. These feelings are completely natural.

Here, we explain how to withdraw from Gakudō, with images to help!

1️⃣ First, Tell the Teacher

Talk to the teacher (support staff) at the Gakudō your child attends about your child wanting to leave.
It’s helpful for the teacher if you say, “We will leave in [month]” as early as possible.

Ways to tell the teacher:

• Write in the contact notebook: “We will withdraw in [month]” and have your child bring it to school.
• Call the Gakudō directly to inform them.

2️⃣ Complete the Withdrawal Procedure

To leave Gakudō, you need to submit a Withdrawal Form.
In Fukuoka City, there are two ways to submit: online or on paper.

Important Information for Online Procedures:
You can complete the online withdrawal up to 15 days before the withdrawal date.

If there are less than 15 days left until the withdrawal date, you cannot use the online system.
In that case, contact the Gakudō immediately.
The teacher will give you a paper Withdrawal Form, which you can fill out and submit.

3️⃣ Check the Fees

The Gakudō (After-School Care) fee is charged monthly.
Even if your child leaves in the middle of the month, you may need to pay for the full month.

Always check with the teacher to confirm the exact fees.
