Changing Your Childcare Hours When Your Work Schedule Changes
If you are starting a new job in the summer and your commuting time and working hours become longer, you might find that the current childcare hours you use (from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM) are no longer enough.
What should you do in this case?
You can change the childcare hours by completing the proper procedures!
📝 How to apply for changing childcare hours:
1️⃣ Ask your new workplace for a “Certificate of Employment Schedule.”
2️⃣ Fill out the city’s form called “Application for Changing Childcare Certification” (保育認定変更申請書).
3️⃣ Submit both documents together at your local ward office.
For example, if you want to extend childcare hours starting in August, please send your application by mid-July. As soon as you know you need a change, contact your ward office! 📞
🔄 When else do you need to submit this form?
You need to submit this when the change occurs after submitting the application for use of nursery. Such as……
- Your work hours change, even if you stay at the same job.
- Your name or address changes.
- Your family situation changes.
- You start or stop receiving public support.
- And other similar cases.
You can download the application form from the Fukuoka City website. 🌐
Unfortunately, there is no English version available yet.
That’s why we made an English translation of the form!
Use it as a helpful guide when filling it out. ✍️
